Birthdays and house guests

Ok, so I know i am a little behind, but better late then never right?  

So on January 19th Ethan turned 3 years old :-)  And to help celebrate my mom, dad and Sister Molly came up for a visit.  It was so nice having them visit.  They stayed here for a week and of course the week they are here we get practically our first good snow fall of the year.  We had fun playing in the snow and just watching it come down.  For Ethan's Birthday we had a small party with Ian's family and the Greens (Ethan's Best buddy)

Oh and Potty Training has been going wonderful, after the first week it just clicked and has been doing marvelous!!

Toilet time

This past week we have started potty training with Ethan,  He will be 3 this coming Thursday and Rose will be arriving in roughly 6 weeks :-) So I thought it was about time to get that boy out of diapers and into some big boy undies.  It has been a rough process!!  We started on Monday and in an effort to make things easier have stayed home all week!  I am going a little stir crazy and am looking forward to home group tonight were there will be a lot of adult conversation :-)  We are not going to be one of those amazing stories of potty training in a day, but we will get there eventually.  It is a long road and I am just keeping my eyes on the long term goal of only having two babies in diapers.

Thanksgiving

I am a bit behind, but I thought I would get this post up before Christmas rolls around. 
This past summer we purchased our first home and so Ian and I decided to host thanksgiving in our home for the first time. We had some great friends join us, The Briggs, the Greens and the Ulrichs. Total number of people was 17, 9 kids and 8 adults. It was a very cozy Thanksgiving :-) I had so much fun hosting and making my very first turkey. All around a wonderful Thanksgiving

Liam's Birthday

Liam had his first birthday on August 14th and We have enjoyed all the joys that he brings to our growing family. God has truly blessed us with a wonderful little guy.

Trip to California

We had a wonderful trip down to Southern California to visit my family, and witness two amazing people be joined in marriage :) The trip was wonderful, visiting old dear friends and seeing family. While it was a whirl wind of a trip we enjoyed every minute of it. here are some pics of the week.
